Langtang
view Hotel is a small guesthouse 30 minutes before Lama Hotel. where you find a warm welcome. The guesthouse has two buildings. One sleeping building with six rooms.
There is no electricity in the room. The other building is the living room of
the family, the kitchen, and your dinner room in one. Although the dinner room
is dived by a closet. The room has two small solar tl-lights. On the walls you find the
"famous" posters with a "teaching" sentence
backed by beautiful mostly European alps sceneries. The outside
toilet is extremely neat, however , if you need a shower every day you better walk further
to the next hotel. Langtang view hotel has no shower, but you can ask for a
hot can with water if you like. When the evening sets in the little chickens
are collected from around the house and put under a bask not far away form the fire place so they
don't get cold in during the night. Didi speaks a little bit
English and during your stay you become a little bit part of the family and they might
offer you the same food they eat themselves, it's really nice to sit together with
the Tibetan family in front of the fireplace and have a sherpa soup togheter. At the time I stayed
here some porter on their way into Langtang Valley, also stayed for
the night. Quite funny to see how they find their way in the home, getting their own
plates spoons and even do the cooking themselves.
After a good sleep it's possible to continue your trekking all the way up to Langtang Village.
Although from Langtang View Hotel, the Langtang Valley trekking
gets more exiting every hour and if you want to enjoy the scenery you might want
to do trekking slowly. The
first part is an 20 minutes ascent to Ganesh View Hotel. A very nice place to
drink a cup of tea or stay for the night. It's on top of a ridge where you have
some
nice views over snowy mountains. From Ganesh hotel the trail mostly
descents to Lama Hotel for another 20 minutes. In Lama Hotel you find a lot of
lodges like hotel jungle view. You follow the trail up through the village. Just
above the village you find a water driven prayer wheel. You cross a little river
with a nice water fall. With a litlle fog the forest becomes a little bit
spooky. After Lama Hotel you can see the snowy mountain Langtang II mountain through the
forest. To River side lodge the
path sometimes have steep ascents but most of
the time the trail is pretty flat. After you pass a huge landslide on the other
side of the river. Arround the landslide you have your first
spectacular view of the mountains in Langtang Valley. There is a short ascent
and then you arrive at River Side Lodge. A small lodge on the banks of the
river. A very nice place to r est. Again here are no showers available. The
sleeping section is separated from the dinner room and the kitchen. The dinner
room has his own heater and is apart from the kitchen. Didi speaks English very
good. Although it's not her hotel (she rents it from people in Langtang Village)
so you might find someone else who's running the hotel when you pass by. Just in
front of the hotel there is a small tibetan shop, with all kinds of yak wool
gloves, scarves, and heads.
